Our Programs

A Brief Overview

Community Integration Program CIP is a Day Program providing volunteer opportunities, sensory rooms, and supports to encourage friendships and neighborhood ties.
Individualized Home Supports Life Skills Instructors provide supports to individuals in their own home or a family home. IHS uses behavioral, therapeutic and skill development approaches to facilitate maximum independence and community integration
Residential
Services
The Arc’s Community Living Arrangements (CLAs) are comfortable homes located here in Southeastern Connecticut. Community living settings emphasize skills development and individual independence in a therapeutic environment.
Respite
Center
The Respite Program provides  short-term care to individuals so that families and other caregivers can recoup their strength to continue fulfilling their caregiving responsibilities. Simply put, respite is a well-deserved break for caregivers.
Camp
Harkness
The Arc sponsors residential camp opportunities at scenic Harkness Memorial Park on Long Island Sound in Waterford, CT. Accessible beaches and cabins provide vacation fun and sun for campers and much needed respite for families and caregivers.  In addition, The Arc sponsors a summer day camp for youth featuring beach activities and trips into the community.
Community
Services
Community Services is a new department combining Community Life (formerly Supported Living,) Community Leisure (formerly Recreation,)  and Self-Advocacy. These programs share essential characteristics, and bringing them together under one new program speaks volumes about the Arc’s vision of the individuals we support being full participating members of their communities.
Employment
Services
The Arc’s Sullivan Employment Transition Center trains, develops and places people in community employment. The Arc assists with application and interview skills, writing a résumé, and exploring an individual’s interests and talents through occupational assessment and job trials
