Community Services focuses on facilitating every individual’s right to full participation in community life, leisure and self advocacy. Skilled instructors work with individuals who live alone and require a variety of supports, from medical oversight to daily living assistance, budgeting, transportation and a variety of specific needs.  Areas of support include: navigating doctor and therapy schedules along with bus lines and discovering Community events.

Community Life provides weekly offerings to encourage socialization and community inclusion. Door to door transportation is available (for a modest fee) to Arc Members and participants who sign up in advance.  A monthly calendar of offerings is mailed to each participant and includes such events as weekly bowling, karaoke dances, Friday night socials, and an activity on Saturdays.  Participant suggestions serve as the basis for calendar planning.
Community Leisure coordinators and instructors also provide sports coaching for participation in Special Olympics.
Self Advocacy meetings are held at the Arc on a monthly basis.  The Community Service department provides oversight for the meetings and assists Board members with materials and agenda planning.
