Peg Dignoti, retired Executive Director of The Arc of CT, celebrated the Tenth Anniversary of the Olmstead Decision on June 10 with the CT Disability Advocacy Collaborative in Hartford.  In a June 1999 landmark decision, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that unjustified isolation caused by unjustified placement or retention of persons with disabilities in institutions “is properly regarded as discrimination based on disability,” and a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Peg is a lifelong advocate in supporting people with disabilities and their families in their home communities.
